law of duality mean that two exact opposite results derive out of the same thing

in an attempt to play around with the fact that people perceive mainly horizontally or vertically, and juxtapose the dual nature of gemini, i created this inspired by the full moon in gemini and the dual nature it boasts. using a mix of horizontal and vertical perceptual cues, and the cool and warm colour combination as well as the shading, i was able to capture a sad mood and a joyous mood. this was intended though to spark a curiosity about duality and why it holds as a prominent universal law.guided by the poem below what do you make of duality ?

mercilessly cold is a forest fire,
whos that through the phone
whos that through the wire
duality is how it goes gemini nights for the soul
