this is one of those pieces ive created after writing some form of poetry as seen below. inspired by the Mexican sugar skulls, i use different brushes to give a sense of x-ray visuals to the piece, as well as an almost spacious and 3d feel. the contrast of the light colours over the more prominent darkness gives the piece more movement and light with the focal point being the flowery eyes. overall this piece could invoke a sense of curiosity but towards the melancholy in our own souls.
my dear madness
fabled as a veil of darkness
the opposite of light are you the cousin of love?
perhaps more inextricable, as below so above
if the veil is embroidered by sadness
where should i look but beyond to find gladness ?
